WELCOME TO THE

NEW

MERRYMEETING AMATEUR RADIO ASSOCIATION/KS1R

WEBSITE.

Special Thanks to KQ1L:  Dave Hawke (KQ1L) has hosted our website at no cost to the club for the past few years.  Recently he transferred our site to a new energy efficient server to reduce power consumption at his almost all solar/battery back-up/grid-tied home.  With the old server the house had a total load of 600 watts, after transferring to the new server the load dropped to 440 watts.  That’s a saving of ~100KW per month (mostly heat). To see a real-time representation of the KQ1L solar/battery/grid-tied system, go to: www.conysolar.com.  A big thank you from Dave KQ1L to the Club for allowing him to make this transition and a big thank you to Dave Hawke for all he has done for the MARA club.

  1. I’m presently a Tech studying for my General. My wife & I are thinking of returning to MidCoast Maine. Have lived in Topsham & now living in NE Oregon. Also member of Am. Red Cross. Years ago I was a Warrant Officer in Civil Air Patrol. At that time I had VHF & HF station.

    • Good luck on studying for your general license. If you decide to move back to MidCoast Maine, we would love to have you join us at our club meetings. 73 Don KA1WAL
